Principal Residence Tax Savings Ideas Joseph Delorenzo, CPA
Joseph Delorenzo, is a graduate of New York University with a B.S. degree in accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states
of New Jersey and New York. Joe specializes in educating clients to become comfortable in every area of tax, accounting, and management as it relates to their business; as well as personal issues such as going thru a divorce, or having a parent going into a nursing home. He develops and attains a personal and professional relationship with his clients, helps them to decide which form of business ownership is best; sets up their general ledger system, as well as evaluates and writes internal control efficiency procedures. He can help value a business for a purchase, sale, or estate planning.
Joe is fortunate to have had opportunity to start his accounting career with the Traphagen Financial Group almost 30 years ago. As a result of the confidence acquired, Joe chose to go on his own to discover his areas of interest. Joe has nurtured many small businesses, and has turned many a small acorns to large oaks with steady personal, professional and consistent attention to their growth and business and personal challenges every step of the way. His private industry experience as a financial statement manager with a manufacturing division of Revlon along with non-profit experience for an occupational center as a vice president of finance gave him the resources to grow with any business.
Joe was past president of the NJSCPA- Bergen Chapter and is currently director. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has given estate workshops for the CPA profession and society, and has served as a panelist on an Oakland, NJ cable tax talk show. He has also given public speaking workshops to CPAs and other business professions.
In his community, Joe serves on the accounting advisory board at Bergen Community College. For several years, he volunteered as a Quality Enhancement Review Supervisor for the Board of Accountancy, a tax workshop instructor with Children Services in Hackensack for Accountants for Public Interest (API), and was a speaker on tax issues for WFDU-FM 89.1. He has volunteered with the NJSCPA’s Scholarship Institute and Day of Service Programs; and also walked to end Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. He is a 4th degree Knights of Columbus member and a 5th degree black belt instructor in Zujitsu Ryu.
Joe is married (to the same wife) for over 35 years and has three children. His passion remains as a personal life coach to his children and students; the study of yoga, Zen meditation, and to his continued personal development (long live Zig Ziglar).
