Mr. Connor is a retired partner of the international law firm of Reed Smith LLP, where he specialized in banking law, and is a Director of The Provident Bank. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of History at Bloomfield College.

geoffrey-connor-group-webFrom 1990 to 1994, Mr. Connor was Commissioner of Banking of the State of New Jersey. He has served as Judge of the North Hunterdon Joint Municipal Court, Chairman of the Banking Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and as a board member of the Community Foundation of New Jersey, the Newark Museum, Washington Association of New Jersey, Garden State Cancer Center Foundation, Proprietary House, Tewksbury Land Trust, Raritan Valley Community College Foundation and the Newark Boys Chorus School.

 

Mr. Connor received his undergraduate degree from Williams College, from which he graduated cum laude with honors in history. Thereafter, he served on active duty as an officer in the United States Navy before attending Harvard Law School, from which he received his law degree in 1973. He clerked for Irving R. Kaufman, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
